Karnataka's March 2023 decision scrapped the 4% Muslim OBC-2B quota and redistributed it, and was stayed by the Supreme Court; earlier the state raised SC/ST reservation to 17% and 7% respectively in 2022, taking total reservation past the 50% ceiling.
