Jharkhand's domicile and reservation policy has been repeatedly litigated — the state's 2021 attempt to raise total reservation to 77% through the Jharkhand Reservation Amendment Bill awaited assent, and the 1932 khatiyan-based local residency policy has been struck down in earlier rounds by the Jharkhand High Court. Recruitment through JSSC and JPSC has also been disrupted by paper-leak allegations, including the 2024 JSSC-CGL cancellation.
